Venture MasterCard Metal or not?

I have an option to upgrade my quicksilver to Venture. But my quicksilver is MasterCard version. I was wondering does any one have experience of getting a metal card when they upgraded their master cards ?

It will not be a metal card, unfortunately.

Those were issued to a limited number of applicants a while back. Some folks have tried unsuccessfully in requesting their plastic versions reissued as metal.

The Mastercard version of Venture was never available in metal, however a supervisor recently told me that the World Elite version of Venture will eventually be available in metal.

According to a reliable insider, any Capital One Venture cards issued in metal as World Elite MC...will still be Capital One Venture cards.

The yearly fee used to be 59 dollars and now it is 95. I called them yesterday and it was hard to explain those on phone what a World Elite Master Card is. They keep reading from a script

I just upgraded from QS to the Venture. Will they send me a plastic one since I'm not a new customer? Or will I get the metal one because it's my 1st Venture card?

Bringing an old thread back to life.... I PC'ed my Venture One to a Venture due to my spend on the card and I was told by a Cap1 rep in VA that they stopped issuing the metal cards a while ago because they are "indistructable" and Cap1 had concerns with that and plus current card holders were not returning unused/expired cards....

Quick backdrop: I was able to PC my old Cap1 card to Venture which had 3500 CL. Since the change was approved my CL was increased to $5K 2 weeks later, esp since Venture’s min CL is just that. After some heavy spending in one month i got the auto CLi to $8K. I asked for the metal card at $5k and was told they are not sending out metal cards at the moment. My gf who is an autho user on her mom’s Account got a metal card— as an added user. So i figure to ask again at $8K CL for metal and they told me I’d have to ask the supervisor and to call back in the morning. Anyone have any insight into if Cap1 only gives metal to new users or if it’s based on CL? I still pay the AF like any Venture user, and heavy use on the card and PIF. I wonder what the deal is.

I wonder if saying you’ve misplaced your card will get you a metal one when they send out the replacement.

I called them a few weeks ago about the same thing...it seems to be a "special" offer...

The CSR told me they have to see it as an offer / option on their side in order to offer it. I'd be curious to know if u learn more...

@paulesport, requesting a metal card from Capital One for any of their products seems to be hit-or-miss with the CSRs.

Your best bet is to simply request a replacement card (either online or via phone - if you call it's automated). That's what I did with my Savor, and the replacement did come as the metal version.

CSRs are clueless with Metal cards.

Just order replacement card and you may get metal.

I have metal Venture and Savor by doing this after never getting answer I wanted.

I recently PCd to a Venture from QS and I don't have the new card yet, it's been quite a while. May or may not be a metal card, I tried asksing and just got these little hints from CSRs at Cap1 but it seems like they can't tell you or talk to you about metal card options unles you ask and push it. Here are my data points so far...

March 15th - PC from QS to Venture

March 19th - Email card should arrive March 28th

April 1st - Called CSR said has been too long, offered to waive $16 rush fee, I opted to wait another day. (CSR said it's a nice card maybe give it another day, but I can do the replacment if you want, but I can't say too much this line is recorded)

April 2nd - Decided I might as well take up the offer and called back, CSR said "No, wait another day please"

April 3rd - CSR said calling back office group and put me on hold for 3 min, came back and said "The cards were on back order, we had to order more and it was not actully shipped until March 28th. "At this point I said, hey I use this card A LOT and it gets scratched up easy can you see if I was sent a metal card and that was why it was delated, she replied I don't have that information but you should really give it a few more days.

Edit : Also I opted to go with the Venture One, I really don't do enough spending on this card to go with the AF and realize it's probably not the metal but I figurued was worth a shot.

If you're talking about the Venture One (and not the Venture) then I'll be very surprised if it comes as metal, since as far as I know nobody has reported getting Venture One in metal.

I just got my Venture in the mail today, and it’s metal! But I did not upgrade, it was a new account, so I’m not sure if they’d send you one from doing a PC

Pretty sure the only Ventures that are metal are Visa Siggys.

I just upgraded mine to Venture. If it comes as non metal i will ask to replace reporting lost as others said in the forum that might create a metal card. But mine is mastercard version though

UncleB ... with all the excitement for metal cards for the Savor Capital One Card, do they send "Bibs" with those for droolers
