Delta Platinum...As someone who flies Delta occasionally but doesn't have status, I'm looking forward to the companion certificate upon renewal. With that and the free bags, it's a card I probably should have gotten quite a while ago.

Costco (and DC) might have topped my "underrated" list before the upcoming nerfs were announced.

IHG used to have an uncapped renewal night. Until it got nerfed, I thought it was vastly underrated. It's still a pretty good card.

Most Underrated Credit Cards?

I'm kind of curious to see what everyone would view as the most underrated credit cards currently on the market.

1. Sam's Club MasterCard (or Costco Anywhere Visa if you shop at Costco)- The Sam's Club Mastercard having 5% cashback on gas instead of 4% but having a lower limit on it at 6k vs 7k for the costco card. You also get 3% cashback on dining and travel and no foreign transaction fee. This beats out the Uber Visa in my book because it only gives 1% less cashback at restaurants while giving 5% back on Gas purchases if you have the Sam's Club Mastercard I really don't see a point in getting the Uber Visa. Also unlike the Ducks Unlimited Credit Card which gives unlimited cashback on gas the Sam's Club mastercard is very easy to get approved for because Synchrony is a lot less inquiry sensitive compared to First National Bank of Omaha and most of us are not going to spend 6k or more a year on purchases that code as gas.

2. Discover Miles Card- Unlimited 3% cashback for the first year and no annual fee. It gives the same unlimited 3% cashback as the Alliant Visa Signature card in the first year and has no annual fee every year afterwards unlike the Alliant Visa Signature card. So if you have the citi double cash for example you could sock drawer that for a year using the Discover Miles instead and go back to the citi card later. You won't have to spend over 10k a year to make up the $99 annual fee the alliant visa signature charges the second year and every year after that.

3. The American Express Everyday Preferred- If you are single and don't have kids this card will probably be 99% more useful to the average person than the Amex Gold Card. The 30 transactions a month for the 50% bonus in points is quite easy to hit and this card can work great as your general spend card with it's 1.5 points, your gas card with it's 3 points and your grocery card with it's 4.5 points. Granted the grocery spending is limited to 6k instead of 25k but if you buy most of your groceries at Sam's Club, Target, Walmart, etc. which don't code as grocery store the 25k limit on the amex gold card is pretty pointless.

The EDP card is just useful in general and is a lot better choice for most instead of the gold card with the gold card only making sense to get for certain individuals in certain situations with it's $250 annual fee vs $95 anual fee for the EDP. Plus you can get 2 sign up bonuses for the EDP vs only 1 for the gold card. You can apply and get a sign up bonus for the Everyday card and get an upgrade bonus off for upgrading to the EDP so even though the gold card might have a higher bonus then the EDP card you can potentially get more bonus points from getting the ED card and upgrading to the EDP. Last but not least you can downgrade the EDP to the ED card if you don't want to pay an annual fee where as the gold card you can only down grade to green card and will still have to pay an annual fee.

Anyway those are just 3 cards I think are very very underrated. I'm curious what cards others on here think are also very underrated.

I second the Barclays Uber Visa card. For a no annual fee card, 4% on dining, 3% on travel, 2% on online purchases is pretty sweet!

Honestly the Uber Visa is 4% cashback on dining and several credit cards already offer 3% which is only a 1% difference which is very little now if the Uber Visa had 5% cashback on dining then yeah I would say it's worth getting the card but for 1% difference in one category and not including gas which Costco and Sam's both have on their credit cards just makes them outclass the Uber Visa if you are a Sam's or Costco member.

I dont like Barclays nor can i get one, but I'd wager that as good as those cards can be , the fact you have to have a membership to access those cards, an AF in a round about way, many might choose the Uber card due to no af or restrictions. A card is only superior to another if the user uses it in such a way that it makes their spend worthwhile, imo

What also is appealing about the uber card is the 50 dollar annual streaming credit that you get for spending at least 5K every calendar year. With my DirecTV now only being 15 a month it almost pays for itself.

Keep it mind it takes a lot of off-category spending at 2.5% or 3% to out-earn a card with a $500 cash or 50k+ mile bonus.

My costco membership more than pays for itself. I have an executive membership. So for i have earned over $280 in the executive 2% cash back. That doesn’t include savings vs other stores, or 2% costco visa cadh back.

I don't really think the Uber is underrated as we see plenty of buzz about it. I think it's pretty fairly rated as a good card, at least for the 4 and 3% categories. IMO the 2% online shopping really is irrelevant since you can get 2% on all purchases with other products. The main problem with Uber is that it's from Barclay which is polarizing around here.

In my opinion there aren't a whole lot of underrated cards. Each product out there serves a purpose for a set of users. Some will find it useful and some won't. All cards have pros and cons. The Sam's card requires a membership you may not otherwise need. Amex EDP is a great point earning card, unless you decide you want to redeem for cash then it becomes not so great. The point is there's drawbacks to every product out there. Truly all around great products don't fly under the radar with this and other forums, blogs, etc so it's hard to find anything that's truly underrated or not noticed.
