The Venetian. A good friend of mine even got married in the chapel there several years ago, it was a beautiful venue and a Top Tier experience - no Elvis impersonators.

IMO Harrah's is OK. If I wanted to be mindful of what I was spending on a hotel I could see myself staying there again.

Tropicana, meh.

Westin, meh, but I found the atmosphere right around the hotel a bit quieter than some of the others.

I've never stayed uptown as I'm not a big fan of the Fremont St. Experience.

IMHO...... Save the money and stay off strip.

Uber or Lyft yourself around = save a bundle and you can still have all the fun you want to on strip.

I did have a nice stay at the Bellagio and NYNY was't too bad. The rest of my stays were off strip and in Henderson just down the road. The 105 degrees at midnight wiped the new off of Vegas very quickly. Ha Ha Ha.

The JW out in Summerlin. It's quiet, beautiful, the smokers are a lot fewer than in a lot of casinos, and it's away from the strip and all of its problems. There's just a cheap, trashy vibe about strip that really turns me off to it. We'll sneak in for a show and then get out of there ASAP.

We fly out to Vegas once a year to visit family and that's where we usually stay.

Lol. I once stayed at circus circus. Brought a case of red bull. The furniture had so much wax on it, when I threw the case on the stand, it slid across and off the other end.

I'll be visiting there next weekend and staying at the Bally's Las Vegas... it's a Wyndham Resort, so hopefully it is decent... I'll update afterwards. 🤞🏻

I've stayed up and down the strip, but last time, we stayed downtown at Four Queens. Only hotel that doesn't charge a resort fee. I figure I give them enough money, it makes me mad to have to pay an additional $40 a day to stay somewhere. 🤑🤑🤑🤑
Four Queens was nice, clean, and the downtown is quite entertaining. We visited the strip too, but just bought a bus pass for 24 hours for like $8.00 or something like that. Lots of construction going on right now on the strip.

Going back early January for my birthday, but not sure which hotel yet. Probably Four Queens again. If you are going soon, good luck and have fun!

We're going in a few weeks. We're gonna stay at the Luxor this time. My wife has always wanted to stay in the pyramid and it'll be a nice change of pace as we normally stay at New York New York.

Either Cosmo(tech and suites are top notch), Bellagio or veneatian or wynn are all top notch. Last 3 for shows and pure elegant. Lived their twice in my life being vegas

South Point Casino. Free shuttle from Airport south end of the strip, RTC buss stop. Great slots and good room rates. Even more south is the M but RTC has no buss stop there.

So, an update... I stayed at the Ballys this past weekend and it was amazing. I had some friends from college meet up there and some stayed in the Luxor and in the Flamingo. All of the resorts were awesome!!! They each had a theme and the Ballys had Paris with the Eiffel Tower. The Luxor had Egypt with the pyramid. I didn't get to go inside the Flamingo, so I'm not sure. I did see a huge pool with palm trees behind it though. The Bellagio was across the street with the famous fountains and Caesars Palace was also across on the adjacent corner with Hell's Kitchen in front. All in all, Vegas was soooo much fun!!! I got to see Criss Angel's show at Planet Hollywood 🤯 OMG!!!!!

Well this is kinda a funny story. My first trip to Vegas was with a couple friend of mine and of course my wife. Me and wife are gamblers and buddy isn’t. That’s how it started off.

Well me and the buddy are on the phone booking a room at the Bellagio so I have 2 open tabs of rooms. One was a fountain view room and the other tab was a penthouse suite. So we both say ok go ahead and book it. So we did and were waiting for the confirmation emails to come.

Well the email comes and I ask my buddy how much was yours and he tells me, then I say geez why is mine more expensive than yours. Oh geez I booked the Penthouse fountain view room.

Now at first glance I’m like **bleep** I really didn’t want to spend that much on a room for 5 night stay. Especially considering we were going to be gambling and drinking and basically partying the entire time.

So before I call the hotel to change my booking I look at the perks associated with booking the room. Well look at what we got here. Limousine pick up and departing. VIP check in not to mention private elevator to high floors. All this for an extra 100.00 per night. No brainer for sure.

So the entire time we’re in Vegas we see my buddy just once. We are gambling our hearts out everyday from 9am till 2-3am. And we are doing really well. Become friends with a pit boss who has the same exact birthday as me to the hour unbelievably. So she introduces me to a casino host that incredibly comps my entire stay cause of my play.

Also they provided car service to any location we desired on the strip complimentary. Now I believe this was due to my play. Not sure about the pool to be honest. Didn’t really care due to a pool at home.

The moral of the story is we only stay at the Bellagio when we travel to Vegas. And get comped on our entire stays including all incidental charges.

Needless to say we haven’t been back with that particular buddy and his wife who only wanted to find all the cupcake stores in town weird huh?

Not really weird. Comping stuff, including roms, to people who gamble frequently is a pretty standard thing. Even my penny-slot-playing parents get comped meals and rooms when they want them and craptastic swag on just about a weekly basis in Vegas.

They make up for it by setting ridiculously high prices on standard things, make a poor attempt at making it look nice or exclusive, and wait for the fools to roll in. An example of this are the buffets in most of the major casinos. Throw out a fancy presentation for the buffet and one or two exotic-sounding items and charge $40 a head. Most don't eat anywhere near $40 worth of food, and even the people who think they're beating the system by raiding the seafood section only cost the casino about $5-10 in the end. At that markup, even when only about a quarter of the people pay full price, two thirds pay about half because of their various players-card/loyalty-program discounts, and the rest are comped, they're still coming out ahead.

I'm sorry you had a crappy stay. Luxor used to be my favorite place to stay,,,,,,,,16 years ago. The towers are better but like you've seen the property isn't kept up to date. The good news is that Mandalay Bay, Luxor, NYNY, The Park, Aria, Bellagio, MGM Grand and Mirage are all under the same player loyalty program. So you can move up the food chain.

I primarily stay at Aria but I've stayed at Mandalay Bay, Luxor, The Venetian, Cosmopolitian and off strip at Embassy Suites and the Hilton Grand Vacation club at the north end of the strip. It all depends on what you're looking for, how much money you're willing to spend and what amount of gambling action you show the casino. You can parlay some strong play at Luxor to get free nights at Bellagio.

I am going to Vegas next month and staying 7 nights free across 3 different casinos (none in the same 'family', they don't let you do that). I will say that I like the Cosmopolitian the best, especially their spa. It is wonderful. Another lowkey way to stay cheap at nice hotels is to check which ones are associated with Marriott/Hilton/HGI. For example, Cosmopolitian is part of Bonvoy and Waldorf (formerly Mandarian) is part of Hilton. Hilton also has several locations on the strip as part of their Grand Vacations timeshare that can be booked through the hotel portal.

I wish I had found this thread earlier.
