Chase Freedom Design

Does anyone actually have the smooth front non-embossed version of this card that you see on the website?

This is the style with the numbers on the back rather than the front.

Chase keeps telling me that it is not available yet, but is that true?

I believe that is just a representative design. Mine was recently renewed and has that new design but it's still embossed.

I don't have a Chase Freedom but I'm following this to see what the answer is.

Does anyone know if it's metal like the CSP And CSR?

It's misleading, the artwork on the website should depict the embossed numbers. However unfortunately both Freedom and Freedom Unlimited are embossed Plastics.

That's unfortunate. However, there are some credit cards that just look so classic and timeless with the old style embossed numbers, plastic and all.

Although rare is such a card that can pull it off, Fidelity's debit card they give you for investment accounts (the gold card with the micro pinstriping) looks like you'd plunk down in the financial district of NYC in the 1980's.

The picture doesn't do it justice. It's a glittery gold and you can just barely see the stripes. Current cards also do not have the gaudy white block VISA logo, either.

No. So far it seems to be an advertising prop. I too had mine replaced recently and received whatbincall the Plane Jane card.

Liked this card which was also issued by the First National Bank of Wilmington back in the day (the bank is history along with the card)

@Anonymous it does have that look to it, even today it has a sense of prestige. A lot of today's cards are gaudy and imo too many are metal that it has lessened the appeal and unique factor. I also feel the same way about World Elite Mastercard and to some extent Visa Infinite. I think at some point Chase Freedom Unlimited will become a Visa Infinite.
