Amex Rewards Checking Account to pay mortgage/rent or auto

I was considering opening an Amex rewards checking account, but I asked myself how I would earn the membership rewards points if I pretty much use credit cards only. But then I got to thinking can I use the checking account to pay for my mortgage and my auto payment and our membership rewards points. Currently I'm using SoFi to pay my mortgage and auto payment and not receiving any rewards does anyone have any thoughts on this or any experience earning points by using your checking account with Amex?

As far as I know, there are no checking accounts that give points or cash back for ACH or check payments. Some checking accounts, like the Amex Rewards, offer points/CB when you pay with your debit card. Can you pay your mortgage with a debit card?

Only pays rewards on debit card swipes.

You can't used a "amex" debit card to pay most mortgages and or car loans. Only some Visa.

You can use the Amex chkg to pay auto loans and mortgages since it does have a routing number and checking acct number....there just isnt' any advantage to it.
