I payed $200 to Cox for their baseball package. It's kind of pricey, but worth it as there are so many baseball games.

How much is the package with your provider for football? I'd think it to be substantially less as there are so few football games each season.

3hrs my azz, MV! That's what my DH tries to claim... HMM, 3hrs for the actual games... then 1 hr every night on ESPN, watching them shout each other down with stats & speculation... 1/2 hr each night watching the recaps on other news channels (CNN & FOX, usually)... 1 hr a week talking with his Dad about the games & plagiarizing the stats he learned from ESPN like he knew it himself...

That adds up to more like 20.5hrs a week!

DH would be sued for my legal fees as well as alimony, if he ordered that package!

But other than Sunday's game - all that is free. All you get are the games

They might be free monetarily, but the cost is having a steaming wife yammering in your ear about your "checking out of life" & occasionally throwing the remote across the kitchen!

So I was told about the Speed Channel. We are now up to Formula 1, Indycar, road rallies, NASCAR Sprint Cup, NASCAR Busch Cup, NASCAR truck racing (!!!), classic auto auctions, air racing, boat racing, motorcycle racing, and discussion shows on all of the above. The only thing that he doesn't watch is motorized unicycle slalom racing, and that will doubtless be on in a couple of months. In HD.

Luckily, DH considers the living room couch pretty comfortable!

LOL... I will always be looking out for another tie-dyed one like I had in high school!

But my unicycle is nothing... You should see me on my RipStick (google it!)... I got it for my bday last year --- I am *the* coolest Mom in the neighborhood on that thing (actually, the ONLY Mom -or Dad- on it)

Im not knocking anyones interest or taste in sports...... I just thought I would share this

I had some 49.99 a month charge on my cable bill and all it said by it was Channel 125 HD. I was like...."I don't have a channel 125 or an HD TV for that matter"

So I take my cable bill into the TV room and sit down to find channel 125 .... and there was some type of auto race on I waited a minute to see if there might be some other type of progamming on their that would be "Work Related" like Car show coverage, Pimp my car, Antique auto auctions (I work for an insurance company that specializes in highly modified veh, antique veh and race cars)

So no! None of that just Nascar. But I could not make my mouth form the word Nascar for some reason....

So I call the cable company to complain. and I say "I have a premium channel that I didn't order. Can you please take it off and reverse the charges" the lady says "Sure what channel is it?"

- note I do NOT have ANY premium channels other than this one I want to get rid of

so I say "Oh channel 125" and she says "Mam I don't know what channel 125 if could you please tell me the name of the channel"

I STILL can't think of the name Nascar and at this point Im really starting to get mad because the woman is treating me like I am mildly looney so I said very gruffly "I don't know what its called... the freakin Red Neck Channel"

This woman burst out laughing so hard I swear I heard her pee her pants a little!

I started apologizing... "No I didn't mean it that way.... race cars aren't bad I just don't watch them... My cat my likes Nascar maybe she ordered it... Oh please oh please stop laughing at me Im soooooo sorry just don't make me pay for it!"

And she didn't

I actually enjoy car racing in rational amounts. I even bought tickets for the fall Atlanta race for our 20th anniversary. I know who most of the NASCAR drivers are, and their car numbers, and their teams, and all that drivel. (I was a fan of the Number 28 Krispy Kreme Ford, until one too many of its drivers were killed.)

But this stuff is like kudzu --it has grown all over the TV, out onto the floor, and is now racing (no pun intended) through the house. Completely insane.
