I called my SL creditor today to find out why the lates are still on my credit report even though a got a forberance. She told me that the lates will stay there but there will be no more reporting of lates. Is this how it works? I have seen a few posts where people say that the lates should come off once the loan goes into forberance. Please help clear this confusion up for me.

Retroactive forbearances only bring the payments up to date...NOT your credit report. Your lates reporting would be valid since you did not apply on time for the forebearance.

Which company gave you the forebearance? Citibank retroactived my lates to current, paid as agreed. They've done this several times for me. So I think it's worth speaking to someone else or writing a letter.

Wachovia gave me the forberance
