I have not posted in quite some time but I felt this may give others some hope! After a very long rebuilding process, I felt it was time to re-finace my auto loan.
Auto loan opened in July 2011 credit score of 540 with Chase at 12.33%/ 72 months
Just approved with Capital One for a re-finace for 3.28% /48 months, which didn't extend my timeframe! Auto enhanced score from Experian, Capital One provided 638!
I am beyond happy! I still have a paid auto loan CO from 2009. 2 years worth of 30,60 and 120 days lates on a different Cosigned auto loan from 2007-2009 and 2 paid collection accounts (that are only listed on Experian) and of course that is the one that they pulled (30pts lower than my other 2 scores)! Capital One is notorious for pulling all 3 so hopefully it is just Experian that they pulled. Will know for sure when I check for new inquiries!
Also want to note, I also obtained a second car loan Oct 2012 credit score of 660 through a CU/dealership and got a rate of 7.33% for 60 months/$1500 downpayment!! Sometimes things just don't make much sense!!
Congrats!!!
Congrats. Your success gives me hopes for new loan in future. I also have several 30/60/90/120 days lates on my current auto loan and thinking trading in my vehicle for a brand new one. My loan rate is ridiculous 24.9% from Santander.
Congrats OP!
Once the ink is dry on that first refi I would go and try for a 2nd refi on that other loan!!!
super congrats!
Congrats man! I plan on getting an auto loan soon too (December), my plan is to apply with my local CU first then chase auto then capital one auto!

I am doing the same. I will be app'ing through USAA and NFCU to see what they give and if I do not get the lowest APR they offer then I will app elsewhere.
Thanks all!! Just want to say Chase was who gave me the 12.33% originally (which I am so grateful for at that credit score)! Capital One did pull all 3 Credit reports! Still waiting for the payoff to go through.. kind of a lenghthy process through Cap 1! Should I really try at this point to refi the other loan? Who should I try, would Cap 1 do another refi loan?

How did you get approved through Chase with that score? lol
Did you apply online for the Cap 1 refinance? Did they state they used auto enhanced scores and they also provided them to you? I'm looking to purchase a new car and was reading up on getting approved online first to have a fall back plan when negotiating. I have a couple Cap 1 cards so it makes sense to talk to them about financing.
