I just purchased a car in June. My EQ score was 601. I was approved by only one finance company for 29.5%. I've made two payments thus far and I've only paid $50 towards my principle. The loan is for 36 months. I would like to re-finance this loan as I know I am paying ALOT!!! I've heard good things on the forum about Alliant CU. Does anyone know what scores I need to re-fi and how long should I wait before I ask for a re-fi?
From what I have seen, Alliant likes 680 plus, but have heard of people calling and speaking with LO and doing manual phone application and getting in around 650.
In the mean time, make sure to be adding some extra money into your payments toward principle. Some lenders require that you make a separate payment/check marked as "principle payment"
