MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTARY: First auto loan ever! offered price was 19500 (with a few add ons) and added GAP insurance and extended warranty. Original apr offered at 4.9, looked at the salesman like he was crazy, second offer 3.9 told him I was leaving, came back with a 2.9. No special offers at the time and CU's best offer was 3.5 so I went with the dealer.

Because by law they can jack up the interest rate you qualify for by 2%, which is exactly what they tried to do to you. Extra profit on the deal for them, and something very few people are aware of.....unless you read these forums
Seriously ?? 4.88 % with a score in the 400's ??? Wow, youve got a great thing with Honda financial KEEP IT GOING !!!

Misc. Commentary: We were shocked we got this rate. We are 18 months post Chapter 7 BK. We had some negative equity in the trade so we put down $5K to offset that. There was a $3250 rebate that went along with the lease. This rate is a Tier 1 rate obviously so we feel very good about our deal. Thanks to this forum I have been able to raise our scores significantly from were we started. There is much good information on this forum.

MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTARY: Decided to use my mom as the Cosigner. I'll pay 8 months and then refi to get her off. Fully loaded, everything I could possibly want. Kind of a high payment. But all I have is Cable, Electric, Rent, CS, and one credit card. So I can afford it. Less trips to Starbucks. :-) I've been reading this forum for months. It really helped me figure out what I wanted.
