MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTARY: I'm still in rebuild mode and applied for a refinance of a Capital One auto loan (Early 2020 for $26K) that was over 10% APR and was declined to be refinanced but was approved for $50K on a new car (**bleep**?). I'm going to sell that car (Shift gave the best offer out of Carvana, Vroom, Shift and Carmax) and keep the positive equity I have in it. I have 2 credit cards with NFCU that are over a year old. Also, buying from Tesla is crazy. I ordered my car online today with a 2-6 week delivery window and it was updated to be delivered within 4 days.

Re: Auto Loan Approvals!

Hi all, first time buyer here. I applied for loans through USAA, NFCU, PFCU, and CAP1. USAA has given the best rate and offer amount at 3.39APR 72 Months $40K (even though I asked for 35K). NFCU gave me less than I asked for at 28K with 8.19APR. PFCU hasn't decided and CAP1 gave me 25K with 13APR.

I haven't bought the car yet, but am looking at a 2019 Camaro 2SS, is a 3.39APR good? I read the car buying threads here, should I attempt to get the dealer to get me a better financing price despite it being used (if thats even possible)? I filled out the info below even though I haven't finalized the purchase yet. Thanks all.

Re: Auto Loan Approvals!

with 681 would bet 3.39% is hard to beat.....maybe not impossible but tough for sure

depends where they pull from as well .....navy pulls TU 8 or 9 and pen fed uses EQ 9

so take that into acct when searching for lenders

MILEAGE: 4500

ANNUAL INCOME: $160,000

MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTARY: Could have probably gotten a better rate with our scores but we had a lot of negative equity in our trade-in.  But our old loan was around 11% so just getting down to a bit over 5% is a win for us.  Was offered a lower rate for 72 months but this kept our payment about the same.

SOFT PULL/HARD PULL: Soft
CUSTOMER STATE OF RESIDENCE: Florida

YEAR OF VEHICLE: 2021
MAKE: Jeep
MODEL: 2 Door Rubicon
MILEAGE: 18
FINANCE/LEASE: Finance

AMOUNT OF LOAN: $36,052
TERM CONTRACTED: 65

APR/LEASE RATE: 2.24

DEBT TO INCOME RATIO: 19%
MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTARY: MSRP was $40,810, discounted down to $37,500. This is a base model Rubicon, no options other then color and factory mud tires. Soft top 2 door with a manual, bit of a unicorn and a dream vehicle. This is also my first new car purchase and very excited for it. I opted for the mopar all weather mats and locking lug nuts for an extra $257. They allowed me to put $2,000 down via credit card and I will pay taxes/registration when I return to my home state. I also purchased GAP through DCU for $295.

APPROVING BANK: Kia Motors Finance
BUREAU PULLED: Equifax Auto 8
CREDIT SCORE: 727

SOFT PULL/HARD PULL: Hard
CUSTOMER STATE OF RESIDENCE: GA
NEW/USED: New
YEAR OF VEHICLE: 2021
MAKE: Sorento
MODEL: SX
MILEAGE: 50
FINANCE/LEASE: Finance

PURCHASE PRICE: $39,700
AMOUNT OF LOAN: $42,349, TTL, Doc Fee
TERM CONTRACTED: 60
APR/LEASE RATE: 1.9%
MONTHLY PAYMENT: $740
ANNUAL INCOME: $90K
DEBT TO INCOME RATIO: 33%
MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTARY: This forum helped me look for everything I was supposed to look out for. Sale price originally was $43K without the TTL & fees. Kia has a March special on Sorento's 1.9%. APR for Top Tier. 720+ he originally offered me 4.5% APR with dealer discounts but I definitely wanted the 1.9% rate, and they still threw in the discounts. I also only ended up with 2 inquires.
