Re: Can I Afford A 2008 Honda Accord?

Doesn't Honda have special financing at 1.9 or 2.9? Do you qualify for that (I know I don't)... if not, can you get a co-signer who does?

Re: Can I Afford A 2008 Honda Accord?

HELLO ALLLL!!!!Smiley Happy

I AM NOW THE OWNER OF A HONDA ACCORD.

My experience.

Well first i went to my hometown of Salisbury, NC to get my vehicle.  All the dealerships in Raleigh, NC wanted at least 32k OTD with my trade-in, in which i owed 3890.  That was with the 08 EXL V6 no navigation. I went to my hometown where they had an awesome sale (www.gerrywoodhonda.com ).  THe cost of the EXL V6 w/ navigation was 27,500 and with my trade-in and 500 down i financed 31,332.  I got only 1200 for my trade in but i'm satisfied.

They tried to get me cuz they had a "typo" in the contract and they had me down for 72 months @ 595 and i said heck no.  So they "fixed" it and changed it to 60 months @ 630.  I said heck no, i'm not payin over 600.  They worked some numbers and they got me 60 months @ 590, only 500 down, and 4.9% with honda financial.

They also tried to sell me the gap and extended warranty and some teflon protection.  I declined all three.  The sales manager tried to get slick and said, we got your payments @602 (this is prior to the 590 rate) and he said we can add gap insurance for $20 extra, i said no, then he said $15 extra, i said now, then $10 extra, i said no, then he said ok, i'll just throw it in your payment and it will remain 602.  I said oh ok thats cool.   Then i thought about it, i said to myself, he had already figured it in with the payment and played like 602 was the actual monthly note w/o gap.  So when he pulls out the Gap coverage paper i needed to sign i said "so this coverage is free" and he was like ummm  "they" rolled it into the 602 payment.  I said i decline it and that should come off the total and he was like "yeah, let me adjust this to get it right."   I said to myself, you slick SOB.  lol... nonetheless all extra coverage was declined and i'll go thru my insurance company for gap and extended warranty (anyone know of any companies i should look into, i'm insured with geico).  OH, and in addition, Gerrywoodhonda is the only dealer in the state that has a LIFETIME WARRANTY.  As long as i do my scheduled maintenance, regardless if i get oil changes at honda or jiffy lube, and i keep my documentation they will replace transmission, engine, or any other major parts at no extra cost.  Even if i drove it 300,000 miles and it needed a new transmission.   Thats Awesome!!!

So I had a long, tiresome, but good DAY!!   THANKS ALL

Re: Can I Afford A 2008 Honda Accord?

Hey Ashley thats the dealership my mom and i went to, but we didnt make a deal, they told us our payment would be like 600 a month and this was for an LXP model, they pulled TU which was 646 at the time, Our salesman Travis G thought they would work a deal because the day we went their boss wanted to sell at least 10 cars that day, well they didnt want to sell too bad because they let us go!

We were carrying over 5k in negative equity so i feel thats where her payment come into being so high!
