I could go on and on about how big banks and corp america rape us but that's another story. However, knowing that a high level of corruption and deception exist I have a hard time being open and honest in return. Maybe this is why you and me see things through different eyes.

The Federal Reserve Banking system is not under the direct control of Congress or the President. That is to stop the important decisions they make from being a part of the recent almost government shut down politics played out daily by our elected representatives.
The Federal Reserve Board, among other things makes the decisions that keep our currencey from becoming Zimbabwe-like in regards to inflation.
The January 10, 2011 episode of This American Life did an outstanding episode called "The Invention of Money."- where they discuss among other things the Federal Reserve.
