Car on it's last leg but also buying a house. Need advice.

So I am currently working on the pre-approval for a house but my car is also on it's last leg.  The goal is to get the house closed by end of August. 

Should I wait it out or buy a car?  Also, if I wait until after the closing, can I buy a car right away or should I wait for a few months?

Wait until you close to buy a car. Don't shop for a vehicle loan. Don't stop into a dealership. Wait.

Once you close and the loan is funded, then you can go out the next day and buy a car.

Yup good choice. This is a must, you don't want to risk messing up the closing. I agree with the above post.

A week after I close on my home, I bought my car.  I will tell you though, don't wait for a month because that mortgage may hit your report and bring down your scores.
