In my experiance, lender's have VERY long memories when it comes to reposession's. I think auto financing differ's a little from CC's, in that once you've had a reposession through a specific lender, chances are they will not be willing to finance you again.
I have seen people with reposession's through CITI auto finance back in the early 2000's, that Santander will still decline (Santander purchased CITI's auto lending portfolio in the mid-late 2000's) the applicant due to a reposession from their company.
The answer was either: No, they don't or they might but it won't impede you from getting finance with them again.
Got approved for a lease on an Accord today. Dealer pulled TU and EX which were my best two scores at 744 and 743.
