Lock Experian to force use of higher credit scores from other Bureaus?

Hi all-

New to the US having lived here for 12 months with a 10 month credit history. My scores are as follows:

Fico Auto 8:

Experian: 658

Transunion: 728

Equifax: 722

Fico score 8:

Experian: 704

Transunion: 738

Equifax: 755

Obviously for whatever reason my Experian scores are a lot lower than the other 2 and will likely cause me to get higher APR quotes. I want to lock my Experian report to force lenders to use other Bureaus scores. Is this a viable strategy and are there any downsides or things I should be aware of?

Thanks !

All we can say is it MIGHT work.  You cannot force a lender to use or not use a particular bureau.  If their lending criteria calls for a pull of EX then they will simply deny the application until you unlock it.

It is a violation of the Terms of Service of MyFico to discuss gaming the system to alter CB pulls.
