NFCU auto refi no hard pull

So I joined NFCU the other day.  I applied for their cc and got approved for a low SL of $700.  By far my lowest CL.  But the next day I went into the branch and they refi'd my car for $26,000 at a low interest rate.  The lady hit a few buttons on her computer and told me I was approved with NO hardpull.  Has anyone else experienced my situation?  I don't see many threads about their auto refi approvals and I see tons of threads about high SL with NFCU.  I'm so confused!

VS $5800
NFCU $700 (very disappointed in this SL)

Re: NFCU auto refi no hard pull

What I suspect is happening, if you truly do not end up seeing a hard pull, is that your hard pull for the credit card was recent enough that they used the same report for the auto refinance.

They definitely used the same pull.

DCU does the same thing.  A hard pull within X days (forget if it's 30,60,90) should be used for all loan applications within that time.
