AMEX or CHASE after CH13 burn?

Hi guys.  Been in the garden for a while.  Filed Ch13 in 2010, discharged in 2014 and just came off all my credit files this month.  My most cherished cards were burned in the CH13 and I am wondering if anyone has had any luck getting back cards they've burned in either a CH7 or CH13 (knowing the differences).  All I really want back is my AMEX SPG and my United Chase (regardless of the **bleep** United fiasco)-its where all my points are.  Has anyone had any luck getting back in the good graces?

Re: AMEX or CHASE after CH13 burn?

I burned Chase for 3k back in 2012 and they left me back in last year after 4 years of rebuilding and I am still not discharged from CH13 yet. Good luck.

Edit: definitely wait until your bk falls off next month to apply for anything.

Chase would be the easier route I think. Plenty of success stories. Good luck!

Wow, interesting, I was just turned down, again, by both after reading this.  Did any of you have to go to Recon or was it clean.  I have great cards but would give up probably 1/4 if I could get back into the AMEX/Chase network where all my rewards lie. I typically fly United, SW and Alaskan if I can.... hence the interest.

That's interesting, I would think you'd at least get approved by Amex.  I have a reporting Ch13 and I was approved for the ED card and the Green Card.  My BK falls off late next year.

Some data points: My scores were in the mid 600's when I applied and I have a CO from about 10 years ago.  The ED card has a low SL of $1,800 and it probably won't increase anytime soon.  My rebuild has been pretty clean - no store cards and no subprime cards.

Maybe you should try to recon for Amex.  Based on your siggy, you profile seems strong.

I think Chase auto denies with an BK reporting.  I'm satisfied with my current cards, so I don't see myself applying for Chase anytime soon, so I can't offer anything there.  I believe those with a BK who have been approved, have gotten a Chase Amazon.

I don't think Amex will let you back in if you didn't pay the account in full. What was Chase's reason for denial?

I have a charge off with Amex and I now have two cards.  I did not repay the CO amount.  I guess it's a YMMV situation!

Re: AMEX or CHASE after CH13 burn?

Both Chase and Amex denied because I have an unsatisfactory history with them due to the CH13.  Amex said they would refer me for recon , but it was not a phone call recon, just a referal? I know I should just be patient and wait this one out.

Re: AMEX or CHASE after CH13 burn?

Amex has the optima program for getting  back. I know it involves paying off old balances to them but do know any thing else. You can search it for more info. I also believe its not for sure.  Otherwise Amex has a long memory
