Any Barclays recent experience applying?

I was discharged from my Chap13 BK in 02/2020.  Barclays was IIMB, my FICO8 scores are now in the 730-750 range.  I have read some who say they are BK-friendly others say you are on the blacklist forever. I'm really trying not to get another HP if it looks like I will be denied.

Anyone with recent experience with Barclays?  Thanks so much! I'm new here and learning a lot.

Nope you will be basically blacklisted forever if you included Barclays .

I have been on their list for 18 years .

My experience is NOT recent, but I was approved 24 months post-filing of my chapter 7.   I got the Aviator Red card.   It now sits at $16K limit.  I don't ask for a CLI because it's always an HP with them.   I did IIB them but it was for like $900.  I did not pay it back.   I tried a bunch of times to get the card back then because they would run me through their system and decline me for a bad prior relationship and they wouldn't continue to an HP.   I have no idea if that is the same now.   If you try it and that is still the case, you would know that you can continue applying every month or two without taking an HP

Re: Any Barclays recent experience applying?

That gives me a little hope, you also IIB and still got approved.  I'm about 3years post-discharge so I might take the plunge and give it a try.

Thanks!

Don't be so 'eager' to get in with a certain bank....Plenty of banks and opportunities out there.

Nobody at Barclays  cares if you 'get back in ' with them or not, so why should you?

Re: Any Barclays recent experience applying?

I saw your post, decided to apply for the aviator card someone said they got approved for on here. I have been looking for a card with 0 interest promo. I'm about 22 months post filing. I was instant approved for 2500. However...... 29.99 APR after the intro rate. So idk I might call tomorrow to cancel the card.

i Aslo applied for the business one but that ones is under review. Probably should've applied for that one first. I don't really use American Airlines so this might have been an impulsive app on my end lol

@123anonymous  I did not include them. But the guy a couple responses ago did and he got approved. So I think you might have some hope.

I would not cancel it until you get the 50K American Airlines points deposited to your AA account.   Also, Barclay's has sky high interest rates for everyone.   My SO got a $40K AA card with 850 FICOs and his interest rate is not much lower than yours.   I haven't seen my rate yet for my newly approved app but I know it will be over 25%.   This is not a card you would EVER not pay in full.   If you have to do that you want to balance transfer to a credit union card that's more like 12% to 18% right now or get a 0% balance transfer card.   Also my card started at $2500 or $3000 and it's now at $16,000.  It would be higher but I don't use it much so no automatic CLI's and they always do an HP for a CLI and I'm not willing to take the hit for a $1K or $2K bump, which is what I got last time.
