Copperstate Credit Union

I am unsure if they are geofenced or not but if you live in Arizona they are bankruptcy friendly. also one pull is good for 90 days for all their products. I got a card with them and get 5% on two certain categories and 2% back on everyday stuff like gas, food etc.

Chapter 7 filed 2/3
Discharged 6/30

Re: Bankruptcy Friendly Credit Cards Pt.2

Not sure if Im one of the lucky ones but this week I applied for the Wells Fargo Active Cash card. Was sent to manual review and then when I called the following day I was approved for $6k. I am exactly two years one month post discharge. CU under 10%, Scores are TransUnion 720, Equifax 690, Experian 709, pulled Experian I believe. So Wells might be bk friendly now! I will be moving my checking account from Chase to Wells since they gave me a chance!

+1 data point for WF Active Cash.  I already had a HP from PenFed within the last few days, so when Credit Karma said I had "good" chance for this card, I convinced myself that another HP wouldn't hurt (and I liked the idea of a 2% CB card without the hassle of opening yet another account (PenFed has been good to me, but the idea of yet another checking account is unappealing)).

I'm 2 years post filing, about 1.5 years post DC, Experian is around 640, current utilization is a little above 30% (due to a large purchase that will be paid off by year end), was approved for $1,500.  Current promo is $1,000 within 60 (90?) days and $200.  Feels nice to slowly be getting back into promos even with small limits.

As an update, Synchrony is definitely at least two years from when you filed for bankruptcy (not two years from discharge date) that you can get back in with them, even if you had burned them before on certain accounts. Even last month I was still getting denied for their cards with them pulling from two bureaus (EX and TU). Tried this month (editing out something here, I apologize) and was able to get approved no problem for Amazon and CareCredit, but I already talked about how that went more in depth in a thread here:

Oh yeah, my Sagestream file is frozen, so that definitely didn't affect too much for me. I just noticed every time it was an approval, I'd always get a verification notice and have to call in or do their online verification form. I assume the 7-10 day message variant might be denial but we will see. I also don't have a bunch of installment loan debt reporting anymore so maybe that was also another factor now. I have no idea, but yeah if you're already past the 670s on TU, that's also another sign you can go ahead and at least apply and see what happens, even though I think Sync relies on VantageScore now for these approvals. Not sure.

Hmmm, I try with PayPal every so often when and they still denied me in May.  I am trying to actually garden until 2023, but maybe I can get back with CareCredit for 2023 (because cats are expensive, and I like 0% for those unexpected (but happens too often with my lovable fur-idiots) surgeries. lol

Look up Care Credit prequalification and try it.  Worked for me last week.  $8k SL.  I put in $6k as my procedure cost and the preapproval was fine... so I backed up and did $8k and got the same thing.  I then apped and was approved.

Could probably have gotten more but I'm totally fine with an $8k SL for the pet care and my care.

Just tried and am definitely on their blacklist still.  I'm not too pressed about getting Care Credit again, so definitely something I'll check agian next year.  Thanks for reminding me that there is a pre-qual option for them!

Re: Bankruptcy Friendly Credit Cards Pt.2

Because I apparently don't know how to garden, just approved for an Ulta MC this weekend.  The regular store card was burned with the BK, but was checking out with my rewards at Ulta on Friday and was told I was "pre-approved".  Sceptical, but wanted to see, so took another HP - ended up with the MC instead of store card for $4,200.  I'm a little over two years post-filing with my Ulta storecard being charged off about 2.5 years ago.

Re: Bankruptcy Friendly Credit Cards Pt.2

Approved for Discover It Card, IIB ~ $4k. Filed 10/2014.

Experian pulled, score 698.

Maybe I was approved because it's past the 7 year mark? Not sure. I've done their prequal thing online maybe once a year or so and tried today and approved with $6k starting limit.
