I iiB two of their cards (waiting for discharge now), and I'm wondering how long did it take you to get back in with them?
1) How many cards did you burn?
2)How long after discharge were you approved?
3) TU score at the of the application?
I hope we can have some people sharing their experiences, I will give it my first try 6 months post-discharge.
Thank you!
Consensus on the forums is 6 months to a year of rebuilding before Barcalys will let you back in. If you are still blacklisted and apply they won't even pull your reports, so no HP.
I got a Barclay's Apple card in Sept of 2013 with a TU score in the 660 range... but I had never burned them.
I got Sallie Mae late 2014 and moved the Apple limit over prior to cancelling that card.
Obtained Rewards + Apple Rewards 5-6 months after discharge. Did not IIB any Barclays cards though.
I was approved 6 months post discharge. My score at that time was a 630. It was for the Rewards MC.
I was approved 3 months post BK discharge for Rewards MC ($1,500 SL, now $4,000 auto CLI from last month) Did not burn them. My TU score at that time was 598
Barclays like to see (or doesn't like to see) two things...
1) They usually like to see some history of other cards post discharge before they will approve you. Some say three months. Some say six months. Regardless, be sure to have some history reporting before you apply for them.
2) They hate to see a ton of inquiries - even AFTER you get the card from them.
I got both the Barclays Rewards Mastercard and the Apple Visa six months post discharge from them. I had not burned them in my BK, but my Mastercard is my daily driver, per say. I've earned over $400.00 in rewards from them so far and have received an auto-CLI ever six months. Started with $750, and am now at $7,000. Have never NOT paid in full and they have rewarded me quite nicely.
That's great info! I hope one day they give me a second chance.
