Best cards to rebuild credit?

Hubby and I had our meeting of the creditors 12/2/13. I am counting down the days til our BK7 is finalized and our debt is discharged.

How long do you wait to get your first new card to start rebuilding credit and which ones are the best?

Amex and Chase are out since both were included in our filing. Wondering if Discover is the way to go as neither my husband of myself had a card with them?

Discover is out - as they are strict.

If you scroll down - there is a thread about going to a 700 credit score in 24 months or less - and the steps to do it.

I'd start there.

Discover does have a secured IT card now! It is invitation only right now I beleive, and the only way to be invited to apply is being declined the normal IT. The link posted is a great place to start though. You will probably need to do some clean up first, so looking for a card this soon is jumping the gun.

Thanks for the info. I will check out that post.

Not doing anything yet. I just like to know what is ahead in advance and when to start acting.

Hopefully in 2 weeks we will be given a fresh start.
