Cap One IIB—>prequal data point

Just wanted to add another data point regarding receiving a prequal offer from cap one after including in bk7. I burned them for about $6k.

DoFD (last payment received): 10/2017
Filed bk7: 1/2018
Account closed: 2/5/18
Bk Discharged: 4/2018
Received first prequal offer online: 2/7/19

Sad to admit I’ve checked just about everyday since April 2018 for I don’t know what reason, just obsessive I guess. Spending 2019 in the garden so I can’t test if it leads to an approval

The majority usually get a secured or starter card after 1 yr post DC. Some sooner. Give it a try in April. Good Luck!

Re: Cap One IIB—>prequal data point

My wife and I filed CH13 in May 2014, including three CapOne cards (two were mine, one was hers). CH13 was discharged four years, one month later (July 2018). Two weeks after discharge, my wife checked the prequal site and, via prequal, was approved for a $500 SL Platinum card. Surprised at her success, I tried and, via prequal, was approved for a $1,000 SL QS1 card! Not bad, after initially thinking it'd be at least six months before I could get anything unsecured.
