Hello. My Chapter 7 was discharged in May. I've been in the process of cleaning up my reports so I can get a new vehicle. I have all my accounts that were included in my bankruptcy reporting correct...except one. Capital One Auto.
I've have disputed it now 3 times, and every time they come back with a different amount owed, a different late payment count, or in the latest, they decided to list it as an open account!
Since it's showing as an open account. (Which it clearly is not, was IIB) it has tanked my scores. I've tried calling Cap One and they tell me I need to dispute it if I feel there is a mistake.
To complicate it a little more, I filed ProSe so it's not like I can ask my attorney.
Anybody else run into this? I've already spoke with some dealerships in regards to purchasing a new vehicle, but I'm pretty much SOL until I can get this cleared up.
