This may not be of much help, but I was discharged about 5 days ago. I been getting mailed letters from all kinds of dealerships throughout my bankruptcy. Honestly, today's mail had 5 mailed letters from different dealerships in my area. They know when people are in BK. Did you get any of these types of letters? Kinda surprised if you did not.
Oh, one more thing to add. From what I have read, seems like most folks in BK or discharged from BK have had some good experiences with Cap One and their auto loan offerings
i haven't gotten anything from dealerships but i did plan on trying cap one.
I filed bk7 in July and in August before my bk discharged I got a car from a company called prestige financial they do second chance financing from those who are going through bk. I was able to getaway car from Larry h Miller Toyota. Hope this helps
Capital One does do auto financing post BK, so long as you did not burn them.
Dealers have some options they can pull, as well, to get you approved.
One other point to add is that, if you need a loan, make sure your credit reports are as clean as possible before applying - that will help.
Hello, I was able to purchase a new car right out of my Chapter 7. The ink was not even dry on the discharge paperwork. Your interest rate and payments might be a little high but don't let them put you into just any car just because of your situation. I was put with a subprime lender first with the interest rate of 16% and I made one payment . I then refinanced with my credit union and it went to 13%. I stayed with them for about a year. I then refianced with my new credit union and then it went to 6.5%. It can be done..
How about paying and driving the same car now? I mean, at least until your scores improve. I plan on pay and drive on my car since I'm not behind on my payments.
