Ch.7 And applied for a Secured Credit Card same Day..Can I do this?

I applied and was approved with a deposit and secured card from Capital One. I just filed my bankruptcy Ch.7 Is this ok? Will they know? There is no balance on the card.

It should depend on the order, but the general rule is that ALL debts must be included in a BK and that ALL creditors must be notified.

If you filed for BK then applied, you might be OK.  If the order is reversed, then they have to be notified regardless of your balance (though w/ no debt to include because of the $0 balance, it's slightly grey).

If you're not using an attorney for your BK, you might want to snag a free consult w/ one and ask him/her your question.
