Me and my girlfriend will be filing for chapter 7 in the beginning of January. We would like to buy a new tv, priced at $200.00 (with cash), and I might be getting a PS4 this christmas as a gift (bought with cash as well). We live in Minnesota, and we have little to no assets in our name and nothing of value (pretty much a no-asset case)
Would these purchases put us in jeporady?
Hello
Happy Holidays
-Can you share what brought you both to bankrucpy... amounts of debts etc. Are you BOTH responsible for the debts?
Are you under the median income for your household?
How long have you been together? Do you file taxes married or seperatly?
Do you have a written budget in place - to the dollar?
How would you be buying? (From savings? or from your monthly income?)
Depends, mostly on your state exemptions. The trustee will go based on what your property is and your income. Generally if your income qualifies for chapter 7 and you don't have much things of value you should be ok. Usually they mainly care mostly about expensive items.
