Chase Southwest still says no

My chapter 7 BK was discharged 10/2010.  For so long I was afraid to apply for anything that wasn't secured.  After reading the forums I decided to go for some cards and I now have Discover, American Express and Capital One in addition to store cards that I payoff monthly.  With all that being said I tried for the Southwest Visa card by Chase and was denied with a TU score of 739, Experian 720 and Equifax 744.  I tried the reconsideration line and the rep really had a "God Like" attitude about how they take BK serious--it really saddened me.  I was really being down on my luck back in 2008-2010 that forced me into something as serious as BK.  I have tried and will continue to work towards my goal of 800 across the board one day without the help of Chase as I am grateful for the second opportunity of being responsible with credit.  I really wanted the bonus rewards as I tend to fly Southwest and stay in Marriott hotels but I will live with the other great cards that have given me a second chance.  Looking forward to moving my bank accounts at the end of the year so I can totally be done with Chase.  Just wanted to give this off my chest and share not to waste your inquiries on Chase with a BK.  Thanks for listening.

@fleetsm

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about Chase.

You've got the right attitude. If Chase won't give

you any love, then don't waste your valuable time

trying to get a bank that doesn't want your business

to give you business. Just move on and focus on

the banks/cards that will. Navy Fed and PenFed are

big hits here in the forum. Not only will they treat you

right, but both are very generous with SL's and CLI's

as long as you take care of your accounts. Please keep

us posted on your progress. Hang in there!

Yea..Chase has really tightened up on the BK'ers this past year. No-one is getting approved, even on recon for $300. I would just leave it alone, and try with lenders who are more willing.

Hi there just wanted to give an update that I was instantly approved for the Uber Visa for $6500.00--there is life after Chase.  They have pretty decent rewards for rides, dining and cell phones and no annual fee.  Definitely going into the garden until I start the Mortgage Application process.
