Credit cards after Chapter 13 discharge

Good Evening,

Filed Ch. 13 Nov. 2014 and received discharge April 2020. It should be off my report Nov. 2021. In an effort to rebuild credit I have applied for several sredit cards. I am slightly frustrated with credit cards at the moment, specifically AMEX. I did a prequal for a AMEX BCE in August and got approved for with a SL of $1800. When I reached out for a CLI and was denied. They said I was denied because I recently filed bankruptcy. How do they determine 6 years as recent? Should I just be happy I got any credit? Do I need to wait till the BK is off my report to do any serious work on applying for credit.

Amex is willing to approve a card 61 months after your filing date. The forum is filled with people's denials for increases while the BK is still reporting however. You're much more likely to have success once it's off your reports.
