Discover Does Forgive!

This topic has been heavily discussed so I was hesitant to apply for an IT card after burning Discover in my BK7 for about $7k. Being 23 months post discharge, I decided to bite the bullet and apply since they pull Experian and I do not have too many inquiries on Experian. I was approved for $10k!!! I was shocked! So Discover does let you back in....YMMV rings true. I defaulted on Discover over 3 years ago so maybe that hard line of waiting 3 years is true? Regardless....they do let you back in eventually. Both Cap1 and Discover have been wonderful post BK even after burning both.

I did try the pre qual site once or twice in the past it would give me a denial due to the BK. This time around the pre qual site stated that there weren't any offers at that time so I decided to apply since it was not a flat out denial.

Now we know what they will show on screen when doing the prequal.
You have some nice cards!

Re: Discover Does Forgive!

Wow...thank you for posting.  I didn't even have a balance when I filed and they blacklisted me.  I would love to get a second change with them.  Seeing this gives me hope.

Re: Discover Does Forgive!

I wouldn’t go by the prequel not finding offers if they were iib. Mine says no offers and then I get a letter in the mail said it was because of the Status of the prior account. Sometimes it shows online, sometime by mail

Re: Discover Does Forgive!

This is great to know.  It has been 24 months since discharge (Discover was IIB), but everytime I hit the pre-qual page I get the "Unfortunately, we don't have an offer for you right now." because of "STATUS OF EXISTING / PRIOR DISCOVER CARD ACCOUNT".

I was just approved for an Amazon Store Card and plan to stay in the garden in 2019, so maybe next year is the time to try.

Congrats and thanks for sharing!
