Today I filled out the pre-qualifier with Discover and was pre-qualified for the Secured card. I did the app and was approved ($300)! Based off of everything I've read here, discover seems to be a great bank to be with. I am 5 months post discharge (6/5/2018) and this makes it my 3rd credit card.
As of today, this is what my credit profile looks like.
- Capital One QuickSilver One($300 - CL increase approaching as this card is part of the steps program)
- America First CU $500 credit-builder loan
- America First CU $300 Secured CC (Graduating to unsecured soon)
- Now Discover!
While I have no intentions on applying for anything else, Cap1 has sent me an auto pre-qual and I've gotten 3 letters from Credit One pre-qualifying me for their credit cards! I'm going to take what I currently have and garden it for as long as I can.
For those of you who are curious, these are the lenders I burned in my BK.
- CapOne ($13,000 roughly, spread across 3 cards)
- Synchrony Bank ($6,000)
- Chase ($200) smh
- Santander Auto Loan ($27,000)
- Progressive ($400)
- RapidCash (2k )
