Re: Discover?

I got back in.

I think the rule is at least 24 months.

GL!

Rebuild started in 2014  -  $100k unsecured credit in 2017  -  $500k unsecured credit in 2024.

Re: Discover?

@Anonymous I did a prequal and it stated  "previous relationship" something along those lines. I think it's best to stick with the prequal for Discover. I heard people get back in within 12 months post discharge and some many years later.

Re: Discover?

Disco is a odd duck. Some get in quick and some it takes a long time. To pin point it is like trying to get a CLI with them. No one is the same or knows. But good luck either way.

Re: Discover?

I wonder if it has anything to do with the amount they were burned for?

I personally am not expecting to get in with them for many years as they were the 2nd highest CL card I burned. (sad lol)

Re: Discover?

@angelofmusic86  I can confirm it has NOTHING to do with how much they were IIB on. I filed, owed $0 on my Discover card, closed my account on my own, and I get the "Previous Relationship" denial reason each time I've done their prequal over the last 3 years.

Btw, I had a flawless history with Discover: Never late, never returned payment, etc.

Re: Discover?

Wow, that's crazy.  At least they offer the prequal site, so I can keep checking periodically in the next few years.   Thank you for sharing your experience!

Re: Discover?

It is hit and miss. They were IIB for a small amount in mine. Filed 11/2017, discharged 3/2018. Still get the "Status of Existing/Prior Relationship" wording when I look at their prequal page.

Re: Discover?

@sccredit This is good info! This may be the same outcome for me. I'll try after a year or so from my discharge date.
