Re: How to rebuild your score after a ch7 BK

You should apply IF all of the accounts in your credit report are showing $0 and IIB, I will also prefer if the discharge shows on my credit report first. Which cards do you want to apply for?

You for sure should apply for OpenSky secured card (no hard pulls), maybe also Primor, overstock or J Crew.

Re: How to rebuild your score after a ch7 BK

I called CreditOne last week - after quite a bit of run around and upsells, I was told that my account was canceled. I am still able to log in online though and my latest statement ($0.00) has cut and I have a new payment date.

I'm just wondering if that's normal? After all the back and forth on the phone, I wanted some way to actually confirm the account was closed, but I can't seem to?

Thanks! Have my renewal comming up (as does my wife) in a few weeks, and wanted to make sure we didn't get stiffed with it again.

Re: HOW TO: From BK7 discharge to 700 in 24 months or less!

I burned several credit cards in my bankruptcy it was a serious credit overload. I got discharged from my 7 in Sept 17 and looking to rebuild. I got added as an authorized user on my fiances credit card and my score jumped up about 20 points. I think it also helped since his credit card has been open for 5 years and is only utilized at 10%. However I want to build my own credit again. I applied for the Self Lender Loan and pay $97 a month and will get the $1000 back in September once paid off. Great way to add an installment loan to your account.
One issue is that I can't get approved for any unsecured credit cards. Cap one - burned, Discover- burned, First Premier- burned, Credit One- burned. Today I was finally approved for a Surge MC with $500 cl. However the fees are ridiculous. On my way to rebuilding. Whatever it takes!

So my understanding is that if I have an auto loan I do not need the Credit Builder loan?

As long as you have an auto loan that is in good standing and reports, you do not need another installment TL.

Re: HOW TO: From BK7 discharge to 700 in 24 months or less!

I have a question about getting a second card, my discharge was Nov 16 and I didn't see this post until a few months ago. I started with an auto loan at discharge and got a credit card a month ago. So do I apply for capital one 5 months post discharge or 5 months after my first card?

I'd treat the day you got your first card as day zero for the purposes of the plan  Smiley Happy

I had the same problem I burned Captial One & Credit One. I was approved for two unsecured cards with Total Visa (300.00) and Cerulean Mastercard (750.00) both are with Mid America Bank & Trust. They both have decent interest rates 18.99.
