I'd probably wait 5-6 months before applying for Capital One... Here's what soul master posted,
3. Use your CreditOne Card for <10% of it's balance/month and Pay In Full(PIF) as soon as you get the bill.
4. 5 months after activating the card from Step 1, get a Capital One card.
Good luck, hope it works out, maybe waiting it out would help. There's also a backdoor number you can call, but I don't know if thats the same as the reconsider line or not. I haven't been discharged yet, I'm just tryna help with what I've read through these posts.
here's a link to that backdoor numbers page...

I’be been CH7 discharged for 1year and 3 months and still can’t get preapproved for Capital 1?? I don’t get what’s going on. I did burn them on one card but I’ve seen people getting cards by now. Anyone got any advise ?
That is odd as they usually let people who discharged Cap1 accounts back in after 12 months of the CHARGE OFF date. A lot of people think it's 12 months post file date but my actual charge off date was a month after my file date. Most creditors usually wait 30 days to charge off accounts that were in good standing up until you filed. If your charge off date was far before your file date then you should be good to go.
Just a side note, sometimes the Cap1 prequalifer may not have an offer for you but if you go ahead and apply anyway you may come back with an approval. That happened to me, I was exactly 13 months post file date and one year post charge off date and the prequalifer did not have any offers but under "rewards" and "rebuilding" but I clicked apply anyway and was approved for a QuicksilverOne. Good Luck!
Is there any way to join NFCU without being in the service or no relationship with someone in the service?

By any chance are you opted out from receiving solicitations? Or are your reports frozen? Either of these two situations will make it so they can't soft pull and they can't show any offers. I had both situations come up.

No.
The issue with this is my grandfather was hated by all of his kids ( My aunts and uncle) so me asking about him would be odd. I don't even know his name at that. I can dig through all of my moms paperwork and find his name. The closest NFCU branch near me is ~2hours away so would have to call and apply. If and when I am able to apply shoulder i do thrat after my BK has been discharged?

If you can find his name, you can find his service record online or you can go to your local VA and ask for a copy of his DD214. I went to the branch with a copy of my father's service record and my birth certificate.
If you can't get in Navy, wait until your EQ >650 and apply at Penfed.
I do plan to get in wih PenFed as soon as I have a good enough credit score. I am able to dispute accounts that aren't shown as IIB, before DC, right? I have an account that has not updated since Sept. My DC should be sometime in Feburary.
If you have a Common Access Card (i.e. you are a govt civilian employee on a base or a contractor working on base) that is enough for Navy Fed to open an account. I know that doesn't help most people but it got me an acount with no problem
