Has anyone had their NEW credit union or bank accounts closed once you file??

We were advised last fall when we retained our attorney to open new bank accounts. We had NFCU and are burning them in our chapter 7.  We are going to be filing in the next few weeks. I am worried that PENFED will freeze or close our accounts once we file. We do not have a credit card or loan of any type with them. Our pay is direct deposited into this account. I have read that you should plan your filing around the direct deposit timeframe.  Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

I am 1 month away from discharge and have NFCU and just opened accounts with PenFed. I burned NFCU for +20k and still have all my accounts intact so far. I just started with PenFed this week.

We still have NFCU for savings...they closed our checking. So did you not get new accounts before you filed?? Because we owed NFCU payments they would have taken our paychecks or any deposits that went in those accounts...so we were advised to get new bank accounts. Were you able to use NFCU during this time?

I already had an account with another bank so I didn't have to find a bank at the time I filed. I use my NFCU account and my kids' account now without issue. But i do only keep small amounts of money in those accounts. But so far, I haven't had anything happen but the removal of the CC accounts that were included in my CH7.
