Are we talking about private party value or dealer value? Is there a standard place to get the value? NADA, KBB?

Excellent questions!
In my Bk district they used NADA as a value for the vehicle. Ask your attorney or your paralegal that works for the attorney - they will know which value is used in your district
+1 always ask attorney or legal assistant
I used KBB.com, private party sale value in my 2010 BK7. The Trustee asked me what I used for valuation and apparently accepted KBB.com, as it was close - in AZ you get a $5k exemption for 1 personal vehicle, and kbb.com said it was worth $4600 (I owned it free & clear).
the amount might be lower than BB. If they have to sell at auction to pay creditors, they will get less.
