How long does it take for a discharge to show on the credit reports?

Just got discharged and closed also on monday, i checked Transunion today and it doesn't say discharged on the bankruptcy part. I also tried Capital One pre-approval and I got nothing so far. Should I wait a while before applying?

Yes wait till the discharge posts.  I think mine posted within a month.

You don't have to wait....Once discharged you can start applying if you need to. Obviously, waiting is always better but not required. Once we discharged our lawyer told us we were good to go if needed for a vehicle, etc

2 days after discharge I was approved for a Cap1 CC with $3k limit and upto $35k auto loan as well...Ended up using $20k at 9.79% because we needed to but will refi later.

But i read that if the credit report isnt updated with a discharge then credit company systems will automatically deny applications. Since I am not pre-qualified for a capital one card yet i'll just wait.

NFCU does this as well. Although they just make you send your d/c paperwork.

checked experian and it shows discharge already. i just got approved for a capital one platinum card today even without getting pre-approved in their check up thing, so everybody who's on the fence should just apply and see.
