Glenoldon,

You're welcome. I've had a good bit of help since my bankrutcpy from the myfico boards. This was shared with me and I'm more than happy to share it with you.

It's always to help someone when you can. Also joining the Navy League is awesome too.

I recommend if you join in the branch, you bring everything you need to minimize another trip and avoid the verification issue.

Best of luck!

Re: How to join NCFU and rebuild as a civilian the right way

Should you wait for a BK7 to discharge? Or does NFCU take applicants who are in the process of BK7?

BK7 Filed | 3/25/2016 | EQ: 530 | EX: 526 | TU: 505
BK7 Discharged | 7/11/2016 | EQ: 535 | EX: 574 | TU: 506
Current FICO 8’s 10/28/2017 | EQ: 680 | EX: 680 | TU: 665

Bcunniff9,

If I were in your shoes again, I would join NFCU and open a checking and savings account. DON'T open a CC or get a line of credit until after you get your discharge papers.

BTW I opened a secured credit card and secured loan from my local credit union and a secured credit card the day my bankruptcy was discharged.

Read the 700 in 24 months thread. SoulMaster wrote a plan that works.
