I searched. Unemployment repaid, list on bankruptcy petition?

I repaid all the back unemployment I owed. Do i list this on the petition? The lawyer kind of glossed over it and said " they sent you paperwork".

Should I be concerned?

I am in NJ if that matters.

Could you exlain paying back unemployement you owed? Did you keep collecting after you went back to work and they found out?

It was paid out to me because employer didn't show to hearing, then they protested and it was taken back. No fraud.

Well thats done. They got repaid. Sounds like you owed. They took it back. Cant get it back. Im no lawyer. But dont think you can file things that were owed then paid. Like saying I paid a CC statement. Can I get back what I paid? Make sense?

I was just overthinking the whole thing. The lawyer said the same thing. I filed on the 10th and am hoping for smooth sailing.

Some years ago before i filed bk7, maybe 15-20 years ago a tax lien showed up on my reports for 300 bucks from the state of ny, i had paid the tax on time electronically but they had some funky system that if you paid online via a cc you then had to call them and affirm the payment. on my nys personal tax page it showed i owed 300 bucks and further down the page in a different section it showed my electronic payment. when i called  them they simply moved the 300 i paid into the satisfied debt column but told me since the tax lein was filed with kings county they could do nothing about it, the same exact thing happened the following year but i called in before it became a lein.

Anyway thats when i learned that government bad marks such as that only stay on your reports for 5 years. so if that unemployment mark stays on your reports its only for 5 years from date filed.

However bk is a different story, 

bk7 stays on your reports 10 years

bk13 stays on your reports 7 years

Thank you for your help. I will call unemployment and have them remove the judgement from public records if I can.

So far, My credit went to hell, and I completed my 2nd debtor education coure. I have the 341 meeting on June 6. Making progress!

@robh3Yes you scores will tank after filing. once all acciunts say IIB and $0 balance. You be legally outof debt and a small score rise will unsue. Avg for most is 540-560 range. But YMMV.
