KD Question

I didn't want to hijack the thread, so I'm starting my own spin-off...

If they are reporting KD up until the time that you filed then that is okay. If they are reporting KD after your file date then you should dispute it.

Bankruptcy does not wipe your previous baddies away. It only wipes the debt away and stops the reporting from that point forward.

I have the same problem. I just really noticed it last week (I filed in July of 2012). Will it affect my score if I dispute the stuff since its old? Some of them are still reporting as OK months after the discharge even. I don't want to screw anythiing up but some are reporting KD on into October, I think.  Some have ok one month and then a 60 day late the next.  Will this screw up my score?  Should I let it go?

Well the biggest derog on your report is the bk for sure. But the creditors per my understanding should not be able to report anything to your credit report after the bankruptcy. Including lates. If you are getting some good payment history but also some lates after your bk then the lates are definitely outweighing the good payments. Personally i would dispute it they should delete the lates as well as the good payments if they came after you filed. If they do not delete them talk to your lawyer, as any lates after your bk really kill you.

Re: KD Question

Okay, thank you for the reply.  And it seems like it's a lot of accounts (car loan, Cap1, Merrick, Springleaf...) reported until my discharge in Oct.  I will dispute these and hope for the best.  TY for your input, I appreciate it.
