My Credit Journey as an FYI to help others

Back in March 19 I filed chpt 7, Discharged June '19.  In August '19 I finally was approved for an auto loan through Ally Bank at a Mitsubishi dealer.  I wasn't trying to get anything big and fancy, Just needed a car on my credit report to show payment history since I kept two cars and let another go in Bankruptcy.  I never did an reaffirmation agreement with lenders to give me "options" if I couldnt handle three payments again.  I'm months away from paying off one the three.  Fast forward a bit, Starting with Fit Mastercard (600) and Surge (700) MC, then Fingerhut (900) by the end of 2019 my rebuilding journey began.  in 2020 I tried to trade in and was not sucessful in replacing the newest car as it was too underwater.  Now I have a bunch of inquiries Smiley Sad  BUT I was able to finally quialify for Discover it NON-secured (1k) in Feb '20, Ollo (300) in March.  Then come June Target which I IIB gave me (2k), gulf gas card (200) and Walmart/Cap1, which I also IIB, (300).  Today Sync which I BURNED BIG TIME over several cards let me back in @ 2.5k for CareCredit.  So now that I am carrying limits very close to 10k, only have one car payment reporting, and $$ saved up, I can actually start looking at house hunting in the next year+.

This post is an FYI for those who wish to "know what other have done" to recover coming out of Bankruptcy since YRMV!

**UPDATE**  Capitol One just let me back in for their Platinum Card @ 3k!  So now I am done applying for credit....

I was lucky I was in the process of burning Walmart during the transition from Sync to Cap1.   At least I know Cap1 tolerates me. lol

But also, good to know about CareCredit.  Maybe I'll try getting back with them in another ~14 months (to follow your timeline of ~2 years post filing).   Thanks for sharing!
