Okay so I had some old accounts and 1 credit card that were charged off with NFCU when we filled bk. I am now in a position to pay. I am wondering how soon should I apply for credit after I have made the payment? Wanting to apply for credit card and auto loan. I owe them $2,300.00
Do I need to speak to any particular dept to have the BK indicator and the naughty list indicator removed?
Yea you speak with the bk dept. I applied for a secured card 2 days after I paid them back. And make sure they take the indicator warnings off your account. I discharged in August and I want to do the auto loan but I'm worried about getting a denial.

^^^ This ASAP
You really want to stay in good graces with Navy because they can help you much more that one might think in your effort to bounce back after a BK. Likely one if not THE best Credit Unions EVER!
Yeah I know. I've been with them for years. I just need to pay what I owe them back which I've always know I would at some point.
so pay them off and immediately speak to bk dept.

As you already know NFCU is staffed with fantastic helpful people with no agenda despite how embarrassing you might look at it from having to have resorted including them.
All the best to you in at some point getting past it and looking forward to brighter times ahead,

Hello,
im looking to pay Navy Fed back as well. I called to speak with someone in the bankruptcy department and they told me that since it was already discharged they couldn't help me and that I could not pay them back and that I am banned. Who did you speak with? Did you go in person?
@Anonymous That person is wrong. I spoke with the bk department. They can't tell you that you owe money so you have to let them know you want to pay. I had to call a few times to get a person on the phone who knew what they were talking about.
I just paid NFCU off from what I owed before my discharge. I called in, went straight to the BK dept. and told them that I wanted to volutarily pay my discharged debt and work towards being a valuable customer again. 2 days after I paid, the naughty label was removed and I got a secured card. As for normal loans, you have to wait a yr post discharge and guessing atleast a few months after paying them back for time to work in your favor before they will approve loans or cards.
@Azuieldrago someone on here actually got an auto loan 7 months post discharge. She posted like a month or 2 ago.

Sorry about the delay, been awhile since I was last online here. General concensus is 1 yr post discharge if IIB. Every one has a chance at different results.
