I did not know you culd voluntarily pay back a creditor. I thought if you went to pay one of them off they could all come back for a few bucks.

Nope, they would get the book thrown at them for coming after you regarding a debt that was discharged.  Just because you pay one creditor does not obligate you to the others whose debt was discharged in your BK.

It's possible however by no means is it a given. There are other credit union options post BK.

I paid off an account in full while making deposits into my savings. When it was cleared I called to make sure all the departments that needed to be update as paid off, DID.

A few days later, I was approved for $4,900.

Sure there are other good options without a doubt but I haven't seen any credit union as generous as Navy. IMHO, if paying them what was owed would get me a chance of having a new start with them, it would be more than worth it. Being in with Navy is the next best thing to winning the lottery!

Yes!, they are very generous!!!

I also find the customer service 24/7 - 365 days a year to be of top tier rank. (find that with another CU)

Re: Navy Federal Blacklisted

I had 2 cards which were closed. I have continued to pay the balances. I recently obtained a secured card with them as well as a vehicle refinance. They are definitely willing to give second chances
