14 months out of Ch7.
Burned Congressional FCU, Sychrony (2 accounts), Credit One (2 accounts), and my mortgage (got the house sold after the bankruptcy). Still have $50K in student loans reporting along with a personal loan with Mariner Finance ($2.5K - will be paid off in 2 months).
I'm banking with NFCU, got the NRewards card that graudated to $2K limit (it's about 4 months unsecured), and 2 QS1 cards from Capital One (one has a CL of $3K, the other just graduated to $3.5). Based on my Ch7 and having a number of 30, 60, 90 day lates (all from my mortgage) I assume I'm dirty-bucketed with Capital One and won't get higher limits for some time. Not sure about NFCU, I use it as the primary card, put around $1K each month on it, PIF every month, and follow AZEO. Spoke with a rep yesterday who told me that even the CLI online request was a HP and I don't want to waste a HP.
I like the cards, but don't like having 2 QS1, so have been thinking about getting a Discover card (I checked pre-qual, Secured is only option). I would open it with $200, add more $$$ in a few months to get a higher limit, and then push my lower limited QS1 to the sock drawer (but not close it out). I was just wondering if it made sense to have a better mix of cards, rather than 2 QS1 and the NFCU. I'm thinking long-term and building relationships and being dirty-bucketed on 2 cards with one lender doesn't seem to make the best sense at this point.
Thoughts?

I don't think from a scoring perspective it matters if your cards are from different companies but you could try to get a product change on one of your QS1's to another product with Capital One. I switched my platinum to the QS and have seen many others change the QS to the Savor.
From what i have read in the huge NFCU card thread, if you call for a CLI it's almost always a HP but with a mobile CLI request most everyone is seeing that be a SP. I'd app for a second NFCU card before any others. We're in a similar boat, you're just father along, and that's what i will be doing when my nRewards graduates. If you go that route app for the new card before a CLI as your more prone to get a higher limit on the second card. Then you can use that HP for a CLI on your other card. If I could get a Discover Secured, I can't right now because they were burned, I'd definitely do that as it also graduates.
