No Change after bankruptcy removed from credit

Hi All,

After ten long years my bankruptcy was finally removed from my credit report.  However, it did not affect my score at all.  I had a few issues about 5 years ago, but everything has been taken care of.  I've paid all of my bills on time for past 4 years,  I've purchased a $230,000 home at 5% interest rate, and I bring home a salary ranging from 90-100K.

Shouldn't it have been raised when that was removed?  Could this be some sort of mistake?

when did it get removed?  did you buy new scores, & that's how you realized it hadn't changed?

Re: No Change after bankruptcy removed from credit

I have ScoreWatch and there was no change.  In the interim, I was able to buy a house and got two credit cards, but that's it and they're all paid on time.  It didn't change at all when it was removed in June of this year.

the reason it didn't change because it got to to a point where it became old. all your good paying history

outweighed the bk. as you stated you were able to go out and buy a 230,000 home, with a very generous

intrest rate. congratulations!!!!

Hi Becki67,

Glad you're here.

Could you tell us what your FICO scores are?

When you say, "I had a few issues about 5 years ago, but everything has been taken care of.  I've paid all of my bills on time for past 4 years," remember that most "baddies" will still be reported for seven years and they will still impact your credit until they age off your credit report.

If you're getting your FICO scores here, what comments do you see under "What's Helping Your Account" and "What's Hurting Your Account"?

Give us as much information as you can and you'll get some great feedback here.

Hope that's helpful!
