Partial payment on non-reaffirmed vehicle Ch7

We did not reaffirm our cars with Ch7 - we have been making full payments on time to prevent them from taking the cars, but has anyone ever made partial payments and been able to keep it? I can’t really afford to keep making the payments as high as they are.. but I figure if I’m paying something, they wouldn’t be as inclined to take the car, because it’s better than accepting a total loss on it.

They will treat it as if you reaffirmed. You miss payments. Repo time. They just cant collect any balance due. If you cant afford it any longer. Go find a decent used car that you can afford and turn in the present car.

I doubt they would take partial payments at this point. You could call and ask. They may instead be motivated to get the car back and resell before more depreciation.
