@Anonymous wrote:@Singsonbing - completely agree! I have the BK to 700 post bookmarked and look forward to starting it. I'm hopeful that the student loans and car payment (which my lawyer advised I reaffirm because it has very favorable payment terms) will be a good start on the long road ahead of me.
@FireMedic1 - I'm coming to realize that slow and steady is the way to get where I want to be with this process. You're (along with everyone else who is very supportive on here) right that it will take effort but that's not something I shy away from. A few questions for you:
- For the $0 balance cards that were listed on my bankruptcy, should they also be listed IIB or simply as closed (if/when they get closed)? Its been 7 months since DC and they're still open? My guess is they may stay that way? All creditors get notified about the filing. Weird. But heck if they're still reporting postive results. Leave them be and you lucked out.
- I know I can't use it in my signature because I'm too new, but how do you format your signature the way you do?
- Do you think it's worth it to subscribe to the MyFICO 3B pull?
----------------
I got an alert that Experian has already listed filing for bankruptcy on my credit report and my score FICO 8 on the Experian website dropped from 714 to 630. I honestly thought it would have been worse (though I'm assuming it may go lower once all of my credit cards start reporting as closed IIB and the bankruptcy changes from filed to discharged). I also got the date for my 341 meeting (March 12th) so the light at the end of the tunnel is looking a bit brighter today.
Thank you, everyone, for all of the replies and support. It truly means a lot.
You can go the to Smorgasboard section on the site. The instructions to add a siggy is stickied on top. I forget what rank you have to be until you can add the siggy. Its listed there. Enjoy your cards.
Hello,
I actually had a Cap1 Buypower ($500), Fingerhut ($2,200), Wells Fargo Secured ($300) all with $0 balance when I filed. My lawyer insisted that they all had to be included on the petition. I had the accounts for years. They were all in perfect standing, never a late payment. I was very disappointed to see them go. His reasoning was that if I used any of them, it would be grounds for rejecting my petition. He followed up with telling me that not including them could also be considered attempting to hide something. I didn't need any additional scrutiny I was very close to the income cut off for Ch 7 in California. If they included my raise that I had just received or stock that was about to vest, I would have been over. Hopefully, it was all for the best and everything works out for you too.
