Hello hello!
My 60 days ended 2/3. I logged into pacer and it says discharge due. Woohoo!! This has seemed like a long journey and I am so thankful to be able to start fresh.
How long does it usually take for discharges to be completed? Do I have to wait until I get my discharge letter to start the redbuilding process? Looking to start ASAP in hopes of buying a home in 1-2 years :-).
Thank you.
Congrats!!
I personally, would wait until it shows as such on your credit reports as DC before applying for anything. I waited almost a month before applying for a store CC under my husband with me as AU on them. He burnt less banks than I did. I waited 4 months and then was approved for 2 store cards on my own, and I applied for PenFed today and had to send a recon. We were able to purchase our cars while in BK.
You have to wait at least 2 years to purchase a house using FHA loans, you can get a USDA loan before 2 years it will require a manual override and a 680 score. Realistically however, the 2 year mark is the minimum for houses.

Don't forget about the nearly impossible to qualify for, "Back to work" FHA loan Would only be a one year waiting period, just extremely hard
