Ch 7 discharge June 2015. A few days ago at my lawyer's request, I delivered 2 of the 3 credit reports to them. They are doing a one year follow up at no charge to make sure everyone that was included in the filing is reporting correctly. I noticed inquiries from February 2015 just a day or two after the filing, in May 2015 a few weeks before discharge, and again a few weeks ago just before the "we are serving you with papers" BS calls. Two in two days. I know they're BS and it's not the first time. I just figure since I actually did take 2 payday loans in 2008 and they were included in my Ch 7, my info is now caught in the endless loop of scam debt collectors. They called about a payday loan in 2011 which I know I never took out. I was neither working nor had a bank account in 2011. I forgot to make copies of the reports so I just called her and asked if she can make scanned copies and email them to me because I can't remember the "inquirers" company names. It was the same two.
Short of placing a freeze on my reports - I can since I have the police report from identity theft and already have fraud alerts- can I contact these "inquirers" and tell them to stop ? Do I have legal recourse ? The paralegal at mylaw firm said there's nothing they can do unless the "inquirers" push it, send me notice,etc..TIA...

There are some really dirty pay day loan collectors out there. I had a couple trying to dupe me. Eventually they went away. You just have to tell them they aint scammin you and you're going to report them to the bk judge. Eventually they'll give up.
