Should I be worried with NFCU?

I recently opened an account with them and got approved for $500 cashrewards ... I did, however reconed the SL but denied.... I regret doing it .. Should I be worried about my account being frozen ... I've read horror stories these past weeks.. I also opened Penfed before NFCU .. I don't want it to be red flag... And also, my new card is still not on my list of accounts online ...

Re: Should I be worried with NFCU?

When were you approved for the card?  I recently opened the nRewards card and it didn't show on my list of accounts until the day that they mailed it.  If it's not showing, and you believe it should be I would give them a call and ask about it.

Re: Should I be worried with NFCU?

I would not worry about this at all.  There are tons of people opening accounts with NFCU and only a small fractional percentage of folks have a problem with frozen accounts.  We seem to hear about it more on here because of the type of forum this is and the crazy behavior some of us have in regards to credit seeking (myself included).  Good luck with your rebuilding and welcome to the NFCU family!

Re: Should I be worried with NFCU?

Don't worry, mine took a few days before it showed up. I was approved for two CCs. I was denied a credit line increase due to BK. I've had the cards for six months now.

Kobe2012,

I have read your posts. I don't think you have to worry.  You got approved for $500 and I don't remember how much the other card was. You didn't do much to raise red flags.

I on the hand, am worried because I refaced my car with PNC a month before joining NFCU. I then joined PENFED and was approved 2 Visas. I really didn't need, but I thought I'd use it as a foot in the door. I'm planning on building a new house or doing a major remodel in 2018.  I'm worried I have a acquired too much credit in a month. I will be in a world of hurt if Navy closes my account.  I now have 150k in unsecured credit. I'm still now where what I had before the bankruptcy.

Im'm taking it easy with Navy Federal. I'm just working on building my savings with them know.
